I went a little crazy on book buying during the last few months before 2016 ended and I have a ton load of books to share! Since I don’t usually buy that many books throughout the year I usually just try to do collective book hauls at the end of each season, so this is technically my ‘Fall Book Haul’.
These are books that have accumulated since October to December 2016. Obviously enough it also contains my Birthday and Christmas Book Haul. I won’t go into details of the synopsis of each book since Goodreads is good for that. I will add small blurbs as to the reasons why I bought each book. Most likely they will be bunched up into smaller categories.
I couldn’t help myself, but I bought the Illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that came out the end of October.
Also, at the end of October I went to a book signing of Victoria Schwab for her This Savage Song book. I also got A Darker Shade of Magic in hard copy (I also have a kindle copy), which I got signed too.
Rick Riordan is one of my favorite author and I have all his books. When this was first released I made up my mind not to pick it up. (1) because I’m not a fan of Norse Mythology and (2) I’m more interested on his Apollo Re-telling. I changed my mind when I heard nothing but good things about it. At one point I heard someone say this is one of his best spin-off. So I had to add it to my TBR.
These trilogies I started last year and enjoyed them enough that I wanted to get the next books to the series. In the Afterlight is the last book in the trilogy, but I already had the second book, so I might as well grab the last.
This is definitely both a cover buy and a hyped up buy. I heard nothing, I mean nothing, but good things on this duology! I HAD to buy it. Plus, look at the covers!!!!
I did finish some of my series last year so I decided to reward myself by starting some new series! YAY! I’m not really sure when I will be reading these books, but these are some that I definitely want to start soon. Some of them have mixed reviews, some had good reviews and other had bad reviews, I still want to check it out for myself.
It’s no secret that I wasn’t the biggest fan of her Lunar Chronicles. I actually didn’t intend on reading this book until I finished Winter. Winter was a game changer for me because it made me love the story. As I have said before I have no problem with her writing, so after Winter, I decided to give this one a go.
Finally, to finish it off, the one and only ‘adult’ book I bought. I’ve been hearing things about this book and I definitely wanted to take a crack at it. I’m not really entirely sure why I bought it since I usually borrow most of my thriller books from the library.
So that’s it for my ‘Fall’, Birthday and Christmas book hauls. These are not in any particular order and not arranged in months of purchase.
Let me know if any of these book are a good read!
