Book Date #11

its-monday-what-are-you-reading

Last week was a busy week for me and I wasn’t able to do a lot of reading. I really want to remedy that, that’s why I’m participating in Tome Topple for this week. Here is my TBR for that readathon.

Last Week I Finished:

Death on the Nile

I haven’t read an Agatha Christie book in awhile and I think it was time for me to pick-up one that I know I will enjoy. Egypt has always fascinated me in its culture and history, so of course I wanted to pick this up. As always I love the story and the ending, amazing!

Currently Reading:

Gemina

I actually haven’t started this book yet, but I will be today for the Tome Topple Readathon. I also read the first book in the series during another Tome Topple Readathon, so I thought it was fitting to choose this book as well.

Upcoming Read:

I will most likely read one about 500+ page books, since I will be in the middle of the readathon by the time I finish Gemina. These are two books that I own that 500+. So maybe It will be one of these two.

So that’s it for me this week and I’m excited to get into my books this week. I always love joining the Tome Topple Readathon.

Book Date #10

Last Week I Finished:

court of thorns and roses

I have finally started and finished this book! I’m super proud of myself since everyone, and their mother, has already read and finished the WHOLE series. Anyways, I’m just glad that I finally got around to picking it up. I actually enjoyed it, I wasn’t as blown away as everyone, but I did enjoy it a lot more than Throne of Glass. I definitely enjoyed Feyre more than Celaena.

Currently Read:

woman-in-cabin-10

After reading high fantasy, I had a hankering for a good mystery. Since I enjoyed In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware last year, I thought it was fitting for me to grab her latest book. I’m really not that far into the story, so I have no thoughts on it yet.

Upcoming Read:

power play

I’ve been mood reading lately, so I haven’t really decided what I want to read after The Woman in Cabin 10. If I have enough time this month I might pick up Power Play. If I get into August then I will probably pick-up a different book. I’m also thinking about entering Tome Topple next month, but I’ll have to see.

So that’s for this week, I know I’ve been slacking on my post lately, but I will try to be more pro-active in August. Summer has been such a lazy type of month!

Book Date #9

its-monday-what-are-you-reading

It’s been awhile since I participated in Book Date Monday, so I should definitely remedy that!

Last Week I Finished:

I actually read the graphic novel of these two books and I really enjoyed them. I like getting into the story again and makes me want to re-read the series, but technically, I just recently finished reading the whole thing last year. So maybe next year, for now I’m content with the graphic novels. Hopefully, they’ll come out with A Mark of Athena soon.

Currently Reading:

court of thorns and roses

Yes, I’m finally getting into this series. I really hope I will enjoy it because I bought the whole trilogy. So if I don’t boo on me. However, I did here a lot of good things about these books, so I want to get into the band wagon also.

Upcoming Read:

six of crows

I’m being really ambitious in reading these two hefty books, but I really do want to get to them this year and I think doing it this summer is the way to go. So Keeping my fingers crossed!

Book Date #8

its-monday-what-are-you-reading

I can’t believe that Monday crept up so fast and I totally forgot to post this Book Date Monday, oh well, better late than never!

Last Week I Finished:

the-vault-of-dreamers

I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this book yet, but I did give it a 3 out 5. It’s a unique story and I enjoyed reading it. I just had a problem with the ending. ARGH! That ending! I’m not really sure if I will be continuing this series though.

Currently Reading:

the fourth monkey

This book was given to me for an honest review and therefore I will most likely write a review for it. That being said, I really enjoyed the book. It was an exciting read with a twist in the end.

Upcoming Read:

I really want to start a new series this week, but I’m debating on which one. I’m leaning more on A Court of Thorns and Roses, but we’ll see.

Book Date #6

First post since I came back from vacation. I was actually going to post something earlier, but jet lag is such a killer.

Last Week I Finished:

kiling cupid

I’ve been in a reading slump for awhile now, so I’ve been reading my go-to genre. I enjoyed this story as much as the other ones in the series.

Currently Reading:

everything everything

This book is being adapted this month and I know I’m not going to watch it, but I’m really interested in the storyline since I saw the movie  previews. I haven’t started it yet, but I will be this week.

Upcoming Reads:

I’m still in a reading funk so I’m going slow with my reading list. Meaning I’m picking up books with my mood.

Book Date #5

Last Week I Finished:

the island at the end of the world

The Islands at the End of the World by Austin Aslan

I wasn’t a fan of this book and I really don’t think I’ll be reading the last book to this duology.

Currently Reading:

I’m participating in the Tome Topple Readathon and I’m still undecided on what I should read. I’m torn between these two, but we’ll see what happens

Upcoming Reads:

woman-in-cabin-10

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that I will be reading this book next week since it’s for my TBR Challenge, but my reading mood is so fickle!

Book Date Monday #4

its-monday-what-are-you-reading

Last Week I Finished:

plaster and poison

Plaster and Poison by Jennie Bentley

I’m in a bit of a reading funk, so it took me awhile to finish books last week.

Currently Reading:

bloom and doom

Bloom and Doom by Beverly Allen

It’s ok so far, I’m not really sure if its the funk, but I’m just not getting into the story. I’m participating in a readathon this week so hopefully my funk will subside soon.

Upcoming Reads:

Alight by Scott Sigler and State of the Onion by Julie Hyzy

I’ll see how this week will pan out, I’ve been feeling so blah lately.
