Spring 2018 Book Haul

Spring wasn’t as good as a buying month for me. I got sick a lot and wasn’t able to work as much. So no work, equals to no money, therefore no books. Sigh. Since I didn’t really get a chance to buy books, I was very selective of the books that I did buy, which I guess is a good thing.

Here are the books that I did manage to buy for Spring 2018.

I also requested for an ARC, which the publishers graciously gave me. Thank You very much!

Fifth to Die

So that’s it for my Book Haul. Like I said, not that big, but all of them sounds really good!

Winter Book Haul

Spring is literally around the corner and so  think it’s time I do my winter book haul. So for those who doesn’t really know I only create quarterly book hauls, usually at the end of each season, because I don’t really buy a lot of book. I mean it’s still a lot, but not enough for me to actually do a book haul each month. I read a lot of books from my overdrive app,  might have to wait awhile for it, but it does save me a lot of money.

Let’s get on with the haul.

Those are the books that I have accumulated in the last three months. I’m excited for some and the others, not so much. I’m not really sure when I’ll be getting to read these books, but at least I know I have them in my collection.

Oh, and sorry I’ve been MIA lately. I’ve been busy with this game on my phone lately and it’s been draining me of my time and energy. I seriously haven’t picked up a book for three weeks now and I’m not sure if March will be a successful reading month. Hopefully by April I would be more inclined to pick up a book.

Fall Book Haul

Today is technically the first day of Winter, and so here is my Fall Book Haul. This season I went a little bit crazy on my book buying because it was Black Friday and Book Outlet was an additional 30% off! Plus, Chapters also had great deals.

Anyways, here are the books I bought:

Wow! 20 books in total. I actually didn’t know I bought so many books this couple of months. I think I need to lay off buying more books, but I might have one more book haul to do at the beginning of the year for my Christmas haul IF I get any books. I don’t usually get books for Christmas because my family are not certain which books I own.

I think overall I pretty happy with all the books I bought. I may have bought 20 in total, but I did an unhaul a few weeks ago and I got read of more than 30 books. So in reality, it evens out. Right ?!?!? Plus, I read some of these books already and I’m quite happy with it.

Anyways, let me know if you own any of these books and if any of them are your favorites.

Spring/Summer 2017 Book Haul

So It’s been 5 months since I did my last book haul, so I’m back for my Summer Book Haul. Technically, it’s not Fall yet, but for me Fall starts as soon as September hits and school has started.

Since I’ve been in a really bad reading slump, I haven’t really been buying a lot of books. I guess it’s a good thing for me, in terms of no spending, but its doing damage on my reading goals.

I guess at this point your wondering why create a haul if I have nothing to haul, well I do, just not a substantial amount of books.

Anyways, here they are:

A Court of Wings and Ruin was released this year and since I heard nothing but good things about this trilogy and I really wanted to start it. I just recently read the first book and I’m not in love with it as much others seems to be. I heard the second book is a lot better, so, I’m holding off my judgement until then.

This is the second book in the Cormoran Strike series. Since I really enjoyed the first book, I decided to pick this book up at Chapters, which it was still on sale, $6 hardcover! I don’t really know much about this book, but I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy it.

the shadow cabinet

This is the third book in the Shade of London series and it seems like I just keep buying her books, but never really reading it. I read the first book, but wasn’t all that amazed by it, which is why I’m not really sure why I keep buying the books in these series. I think it’s a cover buy.

So that’s it for this haul. I’m really surprised that I only bought 5 books within 5 months. Oh well, at the rate I’m going I most likely won’t get to any of these until next year. BOOOO…!!!

Winter 2017 Book Haul

I’ve been doing my book hauls by season now since I don’t really buy that many books every month.

So for the month of January to March I’ve bought 10 books in total. Most of these books are Thrillers since I’ve been in a really thriller mood lately.

At the beginning of the year, I started getting into thriller novels so I decided to pick these four up an I actually read three out of the four. Anyways, I’m actually really liking this sub-genre and most likely will continue to keep buying and reading them.

I decided to grab these books because I wanted to continue the series. I read A Darker Shade of Magic and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last year and enjoyed them enough that I grabbed their sequels. I actually got the Millenium Trilogy for only $15 so why not grab it! I haven’t read Passenger, but its a duology so I might as well grab the last book, plus, the book is so pretty to look at.

everything everything

This was actually an impulse buy for me and I’m not sure if I’m even going to read it. The movie is coming out soon and the trailer looked interesting, so I thought maybe I should try my hand at the book. This is not normally a book or movie that I usually gravitate towards, but we’ll see, I heard a lot of good things about the book.

Like I said, I try not to buy that many books, buts ometimes I just can’t help myself. 10 is actually not bad. Hopefully my Spring Haul will be even less!

Let me know if you’ve read any of these books on my list and what you thought of it.

Collective Book Haul

I went a little crazy on book buying during the last few months before 2016 ended and I have a ton load of books to share! Since I don’t usually buy that many books throughout the year I usually just try to do collective book hauls at the end of each season, so this is technically my ‘Fall Book Haul’.

These are books that have accumulated since October to December 2016. Obviously enough it also contains my Birthday and Christmas Book Haul. I won’t go into details of the synopsis of each book since Goodreads is good for that. I will add small blurbs as to the reasons why I bought each book. Most likely they will be bunched up into smaller categories.

I couldn’t help myself, but I bought the Illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that came out the end of October.

Also, at the end of October I went to a book signing of Victoria Schwab for her This Savage Song book. I also got A Darker Shade of Magic in hard copy (I also have a kindle copy), which I got signed too.

Rick Riordan is one of my favorite author and I have all his books. When this was first released I made up my mind not to pick it up. (1) because I’m not a fan of Norse Mythology and (2) I’m more interested on his Apollo Re-telling. I changed my mind when I heard nothing but good things about it. At one point I heard someone say this is one of his best spin-off. So I had to add it to my TBR.

These trilogies I started last year and enjoyed them enough that I wanted to get the next books to the series. In the Afterlight is the last book in the trilogy, but I already had the second book, so I might as well grab the last.

This is definitely both a cover buy and a hyped up buy. I heard nothing, I mean nothing, but good things on this duology! I HAD to buy it. Plus, look at the covers!!!!

I did finish some of my series last year so I decided to reward myself by starting some new series! YAY! I’m not really sure when I will be reading these books, but these are some that I definitely want to start soon. Some of them have mixed reviews, some had good reviews and other had bad reviews, I still want to check it out for myself.

It’s no secret that I wasn’t the biggest fan of her Lunar Chronicles. I actually didn’t intend on reading this book until I finished Winter. Winter was a game changer for me because it made me love the story. As I have said before I have no problem with her writing, so after Winter, I decided to give this one a go.

Finally, to finish it off, the one and only ‘adult’ book I bought. I’ve been hearing things about this book and I definitely wanted to take a crack at it. I’m not really entirely sure why I bought it since I usually borrow most of my thriller books from the library.

So that’s it for my ‘Fall’, Birthday and Christmas book hauls. These are not in any particular order and not arranged in months of purchase.

Let me know if any of these book are a good read!

Summer Book Haul

I’ve been on a book buying ban for quite awhile now, but like all book lovers, I tend to fall off the wagon from time to time. This summer was pretty good though, I barely bought any books at all. 12 book in total is not a bad thing for three months, and technically since I bought the Percy Jackson Series as a Box Set it should be considered as 1 book!!

Anyways, here is a pic I posted a few days ago on my instagram, for my ‘SUMMER BOOK HAUL’:

There are more that I want to purchase, but I think I might just wait for my birthday month to actually purchase more. Keeping my fingers crossed.
